Progress Continues

Work is continuing at the club.  Progress is being made.  Haven't had time between work and club commitments to make any posts lately.  But here is where we stand and what is coming up.

The catwalks are nearly complete and the north and south walls of the ice room have been painted white.  There is a little more work to be done on the east catwalk, but after that the ice equipment install needs to be completed before the rest of the catwalks can be built.

The HVAC Contractors have made significant progress with the old A/C and heaters removed, the new heaters and ductwork up, and the Dehumidifier hung:

We ran into one challenge upon speaking with the fire marshal.  Specifically, we will need to add smoke detectors above the low-e ceiling (as well as below it) because the low-e ceiling does not go wall to wall.  This will cost us an additional $5k and will take another week to get completed.

We have the cables for the low-e ceiling mounted and are just waiting for the lights to arrive (scheduled for tomorrow and Monday) and the smoke detectors to be completed.  So we expect to be able to hang the low-e ceiling next weekend (7/13-7/14).

After that, we need to put sand down to level the floor in the ice room and EPDM over that to contain any leaks.  This puts us about a week behind on the ice equipment install.  Still on track for September though.

Work has continued in the warm room as well, with Tom Kaufman and Andy Gingrich painting the ceiling and joists.

Going from this:

To This:

The Dryfall paint we used changes to a powder within 10 feet of falling but did create quite a mess on the floor that requires some more sweeping to clean up.

Work is also continuing in the house, with windows being cleaned, wall paper being stripped, walls being patched and primed and trim being primed and painted.

Still lots of work to do, but we are actually ahead of schedule on the house.

Conduit was trenched for the 400A transformer going in behind the club.  Transformer pad should be poured on Friday.

Next up:
1. Priming and painting the drywall walls in the warm room.
2. Hanging low-e ceiling and lights
3. Hanging the duct sock for the dehumidifer
4. Priming and painting in the house
5. Catwalk completion

And then the installation of the ice equipment and the electrical hookup.  From there, it's all downhill!

71 days days until our grand opening.  There is definitely a lot still left to do, but to set some context, this is the state of the old facility 73 days before our grand opening:

While we aren't working at the same pace as the last time (7 days a week), we are light years ahead of where we were at this point last time around.

Please consider joining us on any Saturday (9 am - 3 pm), Monday night (5:30 pm - 9:00 pm) or Wednesday night (5:30 pm - 9:00 pm) or any additional workdays that we publish.
